Well those were my exact thoughts about Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk while I was reading Hoodwinked: Ten Myths Moms Believe and Why We All Need to Knock It Off. <br />
<br />
I have had the absolute pleasure in being a part of the Hoodwinked Launch Team. I have spent the past couple of weeks dissecting the myths that mother's place on themselves. The whole time I was reading I kept thinking "they get it... they really get it". Karen and Ruth do a fantastic job debunking these myths and leading us mothers to live a free, fulfilling, and faithful life. I don't want to spoil all of the goodness that comes from these pages but here are a few myths and excerpts that I found particularly inspiring...<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
Myth #1: Mothering Is Natural, Easy, and Instinctive</div>
<br />
[In following the footsteps of women in the Bible...] "We let go of the race to replicate someone else's mothering experience and instead fasten our seatbelts and prepare ourselves for the unique ride that Jesus will take us on in this whole mothering experience." Did you hear that... unique ride! All mothers are not the same. I don't have to cook from scratch like the mother down the street, I can use disposable diapers unlike my best friend, my children do not need to be in every after school activity and I do not need to aspire to be the president of the PTA like the mother from my church. My mothering experience is unique and made just for me. "We [need to] get our eyes off of other mothers... and fix our eyes upon Jesus."<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Myth #3: I Am "Just" a Mom</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
"God has set apart the home as his. Home is a place where his presence is to be felt and his purposes are to be pursued. He places parents in those homes as watchmen, pastors, priests, shepherds, teachers, and warriors who have been called and commissioned to pass on their faith to their children for the sake of the world. Motherhood is not an easy mission. But it is God's." How awesome to know that God placed us in our children's lives... We are not there to 'just' pack lunches, wipe noses, and fold little articles of clothing. We are to guide our children in their walk with the Lord for the sake of the world. That's huge... </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Myth #7: Motherhood is Luck of the Draw</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I recently began potty training my son and my hope was that I would just 'get lucky' and he would get it. I didn't know how to approach it, which method to use, how to respond to him, etc. How many times as moms to we just cross our fingers and hope that we get lucky? We hope that our little boys will take one swing at a baseball and hit it, we wish that our little girls are natural born dancers... There is nothing wrong with wishful thinking but do we do this with our child's spiritual well-being? We can't live a 'do as I say, not as I do' lifestyle... "If we want our children to be disciples of Jesus, then we must first be parents who are disciples of Jesus." We need to provide them with a Christ-life to follow. Will we make mistakes? Of course, no one is perfect, but even in our failures we can still set an example for them. Instead of wishing for luck, let's turn to the Bible. "As parents, our understanding of the right picture needs to be more biblically defined than culturally informed."</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This book has been so refreshing to read. I feel like my 'hood' has been lifted. I can look at these myths now and take them for what they are... myths! I know the truth and I know where the truth comes from. To all moms... do yourself a favor and but this book on your Christmas Wish List! (It would look great peeking out of a stocking or wrapped up under the tree) You can purshase Hoodwinked <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Hoodwinked-Myths-Moms-Believe-Knock/dp/0310343437/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448246568&sr=8-1&keywords=hoodwinked" target="_blank">Here</a></div>

Dear Jesus,<br />
Please bring peace to our home today. Please help us all to use kind words and to practice patience with each other. Please allow us to spend time together and enjoy each other's company. As he was walking up to me I'm only thinking of the millionth thing my Amazon-obsessed husband just ordered. (Although I shouldn't complain because he is very generous in pampering me) Much to my surprise it had MY name on it though... It was for me! The girl who never orders herself anything. After tearing it open I found out that I am one of the lucky ladies who gets to read and review Hoodwinked by Ruth Schwenk from The Better Mom and Karen Ehman from Proverbs 31 Ministries.<br />
<br />
I am so very excited about this opportunity. It takes me back to K-Mart when I was a little girl and picked the winning ring and won a Magic Nursery Pet. Does anyone remember those? I carried that thing around like it was my baby. Likewise, I am honored to be able to read a copy of Hoodwinked before it is released. Stay tuned for my thoughts...<br />

We barely made it to church on time with just Jase... And now I am teaching the youth Sunday School class so being on time is a must! (Come on, I can't have high schoolers getting there before me... they are the ones who are supposed to be late!)<br />
<br />
I started to make it a habit of packing the diaper bag and laying out clothes on Saturday. It has made a huge difference. Then Mark can even help dress the kids and guess what?!? They will match! (I love my hubby but sometimes his clothing choices are sub par) While shopping at Kohls one day (It was my first day out with out any kids so let's just say I scoured every inch of the store to make it last) I found two little chalk board hooks on clearance for just a few bucks. I snatched them up, added a little paint, and viola!<br />

(Sorry about the poor lighting... when it's dark outside that is as light as their room gets with their little lights... but hey, they are the same lights that were in my husbands room when he was a kid so that's the price you pay for nostalgia...)<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;" target="_blank"><br /></a>Saturday night, if not before, both kiddos have their entire outfits hung (I even hang up one shoe and place the other one near by on the dresser because as any parent will tell you... shoe searching while you are on your way out the door is a beast). Well, they broke my heart and asked for no crafts... makeovers is what they wanted. So I couldn't completely shut Pinterest out of the weekend so I decided to get creative with our dessert. I found the idea <a href="http://www.theblackpeppercorn.com/2013/03/cake-mix-waffles/" target="_blank">here</a> to make Chocolate Cake Waffles topped with Ice Cream and Chocolate and Carmel Syrup. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig7Rq5IXxMbXIlYGmuJcgLd-Ax1RBqinkgDhzg9DAu1-ycPE5HMFNUcaIU2Jj5jX6Bht81uZIECDSeRSGMttU_phjV0XzTg7mXqj9zOQJrpB5wzZ5du_QjEbclX1lZagqg8Yp00sNMvlE/s1600/icecream.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig7Rq5IXxMbXIlYGmuJcgLd-Ax1RBqinkgDhzg9DAu1-ycPE5HMFNUcaIU2Jj5jX6Bht81uZIECDSeRSGMttU_phjV0XzTg7mXqj9zOQJrpB5wzZ5du_QjEbclX1lZagqg8Yp00sNMvlE/s1600/icecream.JPG" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
This was SO easy (you know me and a kitchen don't go hand in hand) and even more delicious. And the best part is that it only took a few minutes for each waffle... who wants to wait for 30 minutes when you can have cake in 5?<br />

But then Jase was born, and the motherly instincts kicked in and I wanted to do it all... I wanted to be the cloth-diapering, strictly-nursing, baby food-making mama. Well, the cloth diapers are leaking, my milk wasn't coming in enough but the baby food... I CAN DO IT! And you can too...<br />
<br />
Before we started at 5 months I researched everything... but I was hung up on what I needed. Do I get a blender or food processor? Baby Bullet or Beaba? Steamer or press? Silicone trays? Ice cube trays? And don't even get me started on storage... I have come to the conclusion that every mama has her own system and what works for one, might not work for another. Here is what I do... so take it for what its worth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkTm55A0SgHSS9al_Cmgd2t3Wj5IZtpUsZwSWCCu56FR3P76ZLoHxLAiy-m3TGAKkIDcLwIUDY4eD5t7APDxM5UE14yg71c0sr76xeNbob5Ghe3imJbsoZizsxpbzUmfZ7IpAh2Wz8uL4/s1600/v2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkTm55A0SgHSS9al_Cmgd2t3Wj5IZtpUsZwSWCCu56FR3P76ZLoHxLAiy-m3TGAKkIDcLwIUDY4eD5t7APDxM5UE14yg71c0sr76xeNbob5Ghe3imJbsoZizsxpbzUmfZ7IpAh2Wz8uL4/s1600/v2.jpeg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I start with fruits and veggies. I buy frozen... We eat frozen veggies so our son will too. All of this cost about $14. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLaLe8i9Be2fEdWew9zRpyzlOs7VFAMkZXObgAkLH1avY4asi7zr83frmM6RVat7RZUu5eUW6DbIBJcMTw5xmigSlEaH9O16aOIzZC6bUgpYinn0mSgtJfM95Jz-3cJnwcOS-vmqClSc/s1600/v6.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLaLe8i9Be2fEdWew9zRpyzlOs7VFAMkZXObgAkLH1avY4asi7zr83frmM6RVat7RZUu5eUW6DbIBJcMTw5xmigSlEaH9O16aOIzZC6bUgpYinn0mSgtJfM95Jz-3cJnwcOS-vmqClSc/s1600/v6.jpeg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I usually do one fruit or veggie at a time. I developed a schedule where every Sunday afternoon I set aside an hour and make one fruit and one veggie. Because they last so long I didn't need to do more than that a week. This allowed for a great rotation and many choices for him. I just started by peeling (if needed). This here is squash... one of his favorites. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht_HA3esUTFwLJke7hJAm2j_5CuZhU6jwy5tWcudMWvBV9PURsATjW5jwEBNfH3D_nNQ13ITXUzEHOLrkcwei6ysZUGcTKN6dVT1fLsPQENXLzqwrnAiFai31EvY3n7mNqvumW-jFk6aI/s1600/v5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht_HA3esUTFwLJke7hJAm2j_5CuZhU6jwy5tWcudMWvBV9PURsATjW5jwEBNfH3D_nNQ13ITXUzEHOLrkcwei6ysZUGcTKN6dVT1fLsPQENXLzqwrnAiFai31EvY3n7mNqvumW-jFk6aI/s1600/v5.jpeg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
Next, I cube it and put it in a pot with just enough water to cover it. Bring it to a boil for about 5-10 minutes. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyOKIz8w9Udp26xHY92R1jGosblaA__OD0eFFfb6j9uAuJ6o_UF90Fi6dzIxdOmkD0eIJvRpEMiZAM1Zybg4WJtb_dgCG4B3VftZXoXGlKejHHK8bPipC92k3U2Y9o3lXM-47VTc3PEJc/s1600/v4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyOKIz8w9Udp26xHY92R1jGosblaA__OD0eFFfb6j9uAuJ6o_UF90Fi6dzIxdOmkD0eIJvRpEMiZAM1Zybg4WJtb_dgCG4B3VftZXoXGlKejHHK8bPipC92k3U2Y9o3lXM-47VTc3PEJc/s1600/v4.jpeg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
I then drain the water but keep it in a bowl. For some fruits or veggies you may need to add water to make it the consistency that you little one likes/needs. If I do need to add water I use this excess water because it still has some of the nutrients in it. I just use a basic blender that has a puree setting. I debated on the baby bullet or some of the others but figured to try our brand new blender that has been sitting in our cupboard never used since our wedding... and it works!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheNFn3A4KwreN_zTvbrLwgRFaYZQMV8fi2BOToB_2s8YdKoWkeb2qpwl2kroud7QH4pDXBGLyx17gQKW7DPmLiUQNxAfP5wCbhWWSPDVNGVU1hZgkwuHmgJNZboAPsZVw1G9CGu3i_3rU/s1600/v1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheNFn3A4KwreN_zTvbrLwgRFaYZQMV8fi2BOToB_2s8YdKoWkeb2qpwl2kroud7QH4pDXBGLyx17gQKW7DPmLiUQNxAfP5wCbhWWSPDVNGVU1hZgkwuHmgJNZboAPsZVw1G9CGu3i_3rU/s1600/v1.jpeg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
Once I have gotten the consistency I want I spoon it into one ounce ice cube trays. I picked these up at Wal-Mart. Pros: Cheap in cost, comes with a cover Cons: It is hard to get the cubes out (I have to run warm water over the bottom) You can find the trays<a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Munchkin-Click-Lock-Fresh-Food-Freezer-Trays-Set-of-2/22879309" target="_blank"> here</a>. <br />
<br />
I then place the cubes in a zip locked bag with the date labled on it and stick it in the freezer. These cubes are great when eating at home... I just pop one or two out, warm it up (be careful with the microwave) and dinner is served. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp1FzvN2w8ngSEX9yFUX3dJ1Q0rGaIP5gUnGwBXGwXgWlrESfj3_c-YX1LHw8uHhl9AS_Nj6VS9sOQ71oebzYwgKzxTHiQzZdClKwh4XuOabk6EWESEjHVjh8V0NIlV_F8o0S0NQjU_U4/s1600/v3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp1FzvN2w8ngSEX9yFUX3dJ1Q0rGaIP5gUnGwBXGwXgWlrESfj3_c-YX1LHw8uHhl9AS_Nj6VS9sOQ71oebzYwgKzxTHiQzZdClKwh4XuOabk6EWESEjHVjh8V0NIlV_F8o0S0NQjU_U4/s1600/v3.jpeg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
When we go out and feed him away from home I like to use these pouches. They can be bought at Babies R Us and the whole system is less than $30. You just scoop the food in then use the little tool to push it right in. You can find the Fresh Squeeze Station <a href="http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=15439726&cp=&parentPage=search" target="_blank">here</a>. <br />
<br />
These are great to throw in the diaper bag and eat on the run. They even have a spoon attachment so no bowl is needed. <br />
<br />
Again, by no means am I a pro in the kitchen but I have found that this is so easy, healthier, and much much cheaper. <br />

This is exactly was I was expecting to do when I was told Wednesday morning that I would be induced on Thursday. Mark and I were going to go to church, go out to eat for the very last time as just husband and wife, then head home to finish packing, spend some time with Ruby, and get a good nights sleep. But then the storm came... and the power went out... for 5 hours! Just as we were getting ready to leave for church lightening hit a pole down the street and the power was gone! We also thought we had a power line down across our driveway but it turned out just to be a phone line... phew! We still managed to get to church and go out to the Olive Garden for dinner but as for the rest... we were at my parents until 11:00 then finally decided to head home to pack by flashlight. Thankfully though, as we were driving up the street we saw the lights slowly start to come on. We did what we needed to do, headed to bed at 2:00 with our alarms set for 4 am.<br />
<br />
4:00 am: Beep Beep Beep... the alarm went off and woke me from a very light sleep. I hopped in the shower and started to get ready for our big day.<br />
<br />
5:15 am: Nothing beats a McDonalds breakfast<br />
<br />
5:30 am: Arrive at the hospital only to find out that they were not expecting me... ugh!<br />
<br />
6:00 am: The nurse prepped me for my IV and we got the party started! This nurse also gave Mark a very important piece of advice... EAT! She said there is nothing worse than a husband passed out on the floor!<br />
<br />
8:00 am: The anesthesiologist came in and began my epidural. My doctor wanted it done early because she said my cervix wasn't favorable... I gladly agreed :)<br />
<br />
9:00 am: Dr. DeMartino came in and broke my water.<br />
<br />
11:00 am: 3 cm dilated<br />
<br />
12:00 pm: My parents arrive and shortly after Mark's arrive. The pastor also stopped by and prayed for a healthy baby and a safe delivery.<br />
<br />
4:00 pm: 4 cm dilated<br />
<br />
5:00 pm: 4 cm dilated<br />
<br />
6:30 pm: Still 4 cm dilated... At this time the nurse came in and told us that the doctor wanted her to prep me for a C-Section. I immediately began to cry... I didn't really have a plan but the little bit of a plan that I did have did not include a C-Section. I was crushed... I felt like I was being robbed of a moment I had been waiting for... After talking it over with Mark and my mom, and after praying about it, Mark asked the doctor for one more hour to see if any progress will come. I think the only reason why the doctor approved was because she wasn't even at the hospital yet...<br />
<br />
7:30 pm: The doctor arrived and to satisfy our request she checked me one last time... WHAT?!?!? 10 cm? Really? Sure enough, I had progressed to 10 cm in that short time. I had started to feel the contractions but I just thought that the epidural was wearing off... never would I have thought I would be ready to push...<br />
<br />
9:00 pm: This was when I really began pushing. The hardest part for me... holding my breath for so long. Mark was great. He was holding my leg and so encouraging.<br />
<br />
9:23 pm: Welcome to the world Jase! I can't even put into words what this moment felt like... everything was happening so fast but yet slowly going through my mind. The overwhelming sense of joy I felt when he was placed in my arms... I just cried and cried...<br />
<br />
10:00 pm: The family came in and Jase got to meet Mamaw and Papaw, Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Christy and Uncle JD...<br />

For our March Craft Night we followed Alissa's directions from <a href="http://www.craftyendeavor.com/2012/03/08/easter-egg-garland/" target="_blank">Craft Endeavo</a>r to create our centerpieces. The directions were very easy to follow and the craft was a huge success. A bit messy... okay very messy, but the eggs turned out great!<br />
Thank you to all the ladies who came out and a special thank you to those who provided the snacks, devotion, and door prize!<br />
<br />
Now let's see how everyone's eggs turned out! Pictures please :)<br />

I have to say... this is kind of my 'go-to' handmade wedding gift. Its so easy but yet looks so nice and is a great keepsake for the bride and groom.<br />
<br />
Materials:<br />
A clear glass or plastic ornament<br />
The wedding invitation<br />
A paper cutter<br />
A pencil<br />
Ribbon to match the colors<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkoMFcfqU4sYSDbYOteR7EqrN0OZSy-Vjv9c1bWvN_AFs65VlGf_Gas6GmoqpPF7w9I6_UhWjwwrf6T7kTXlxb7L5jjykPZy6qQtdEIM2gL3bf__MM1QqEiySlel6_tYjmglTPTjeUTqQ/s1600/get-attachment.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkoMFcfqU4sYSDbYOteR7EqrN0OZSy-Vjv9c1bWvN_AFs65VlGf_Gas6GmoqpPF7w9I6_UhWjwwrf6T7kTXlxb7L5jjykPZy6qQtdEIM2gL3bf__MM1QqEiySlel6_tYjmglTPTjeUTqQ/s320/get-attachment.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Step 1: Find the wedding invitation... (And make sure you copy down all information so that you know where the reception is and what time both the ceremony and reception start...)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghXRFl-bnU-1N6bWvS5hb0__ZONpg7MUaKOdM-w1jBcAemOhvcZGaI0wU0ymVLzQZQw7ZF2yM9Zf5Alv_C4hWc6w3LV1bPg5B4yZ4w4feczCxyUbPEU0ugmmdsPv402gxjndITOJ1dCSI/s1600/get-attachment+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghXRFl-bnU-1N6bWvS5hb0__ZONpg7MUaKOdM-w1jBcAemOhvcZGaI0wU0ymVLzQZQw7ZF2yM9Zf5Alv_C4hWc6w3LV1bPg5B4yZ4w4feczCxyUbPEU0ugmmdsPv402gxjndITOJ1dCSI/s320/get-attachment+%25281%2529.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Step 2: Using your paper cutter, slice the invitation into strips. Each strip should have only one line of text on it. It doesn't matter if some are thicker than others... you won't be able to tell. I also only use the strips with 'wedding' text (For example if the invitation gives directions I don't include the directions or information like that.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQV0Ss1SMK17M8szFfdFm8BFOWGwx91QsCq1oMjjLI9odAa6F2WDytIIwCqly7VKlhObZ3mYR37Bqa7ojY4KUxNH5Z81MzlcceNXBV7dGlu49LYne3hthtiuJ4ufBFl5biHQRo2sGZg1E/s1600/get-attachment+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQV0Ss1SMK17M8szFfdFm8BFOWGwx91QsCq1oMjjLI9odAa6F2WDytIIwCqly7VKlhObZ3mYR37Bqa7ojY4KUxNH5Z81MzlcceNXBV7dGlu49LYne3hthtiuJ4ufBFl5biHQRo2sGZg1E/s320/get-attachment+%25282%2529.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Step 3: Using a pencil, loosely wrap each strip around to form a curly-q. (Yes, that is a technical term.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjevf3Jc2xNxvxpsQSSuve6TWN0yanmsDfnug6Go2VgZthvnlP5B62eEgo8MoKjVkYwWnVccd-syjTkyGPvLd70AtX6Kz6NFIWu2VWyRUMAkPJeC1U_j12FVFsBjakX-mqwAqWT4V3cuCo/s1600/get-attachment+%25283%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjevf3Jc2xNxvxpsQSSuve6TWN0yanmsDfnug6Go2VgZthvnlP5B62eEgo8MoKjVkYwWnVccd-syjTkyGPvLd70AtX6Kz6NFIWu2VWyRUMAkPJeC1U_j12FVFsBjakX-mqwAqWT4V3cuCo/s320/get-attachment+%25283%2529.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Here is what you will get. Don't worry if it looks to 'tight'. They will loosen up and expand once in the bulb.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQa_9EtYFV4uFY6mltFpv4OPDXQR6oGzkiFkxSnTDUgYOtJqa4OAJ5nhXzqEaEMwuamAv4NI-3bEOdrvVnqcXSflkW290cVoSWXjUwIKZkGXB0iwz3N3SX-8Frilpr7k7_SQL4IDDqFrs/s1600/get-attachment+%25284%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQa_9EtYFV4uFY6mltFpv4OPDXQR6oGzkiFkxSnTDUgYOtJqa4OAJ5nhXzqEaEMwuamAv4NI-3bEOdrvVnqcXSflkW290cVoSWXjUwIKZkGXB0iwz3N3SX-8Frilpr7k7_SQL4IDDqFrs/s320/get-attachment+%25284%2529.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Step 4: Place each strip into the ornament. I found that rolling it in a small circle then poking it through the top works best. If you feed it through, one end to the other, it tends to uncurl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo_ZC9dLKqvUXD8dtmlYK02vI2hBc01SAIC0jf2hRMDse5xbGJSj7S6UY5d2Tcm8qMHkB3WfmTmo9zmF1SrVBmwkG0s4MMunb1pY4HZAgxIwAi1ncCrILRUQE_XbXLHqjcIGANLJMSKjg/s1600/get-attachment+%25285%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo_ZC9dLKqvUXD8dtmlYK02vI2hBc01SAIC0jf2hRMDse5xbGJSj7S6UY5d2Tcm8qMHkB3WfmTmo9zmF1SrVBmwkG0s4MMunb1pY4HZAgxIwAi1ncCrILRUQE_XbXLHqjcIGANLJMSKjg/s320/get-attachment+%25285%2529.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Step 5: Add a ribbon to the top and there you have it! Now the bride and groom have a copy of their wedding invitation and an ornament to remember their wedding by every Christmas!<br />
<br />
What are some wedding keepsake ideas you use?<br />

You can find our Love Story <a href="http://carriewimbish.blogspot.com/p/our-love-story.html" target="_blank">here</a> but here is a Cliff's Notes version... Mark and I 'met' in seventh grade at youth camp. The boys from his church roomed with the boys from my church and they became friends. I on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with the boys from his church. Fast forward about 15 years and we started casually talking on Facebook. That January he was working at Seneca Lake Youth Camp and I went as a chaperon for our girls. After spending a little time together that weekend he asked me for my number. He called the NEXT day... he was such a gentleman that he did not need the whole 3 day rule!!! Our conversations from that night on were at least 3 hours... every night. 2 weeks later he came up to Poland, from Louisville KY, for our first date. Due to the snow that date ended up being a weekend and by Sunday I. Was. In. LOVE. Monday on the phone he asked me if I wanted a silver or gold ring! Wow... So, why do I love this man?<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="300" src="http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/523866_4013894398873_634511781_n.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
1. He has such a love for God! Many of our conversations revolve around loving the Lord and trying to be faithful to his calling for us as a couple.<br />
<br />
2. He is so funny! Just yesterday he had me laughing so hard I was crying... and it wasn't even trying to be funny! He sings, he dances, and he just likes to goof off and have fun!<br />
<br />
3. He is my rock! He has gotten me through many ups and downs. With him by my side I can accomplish anything.<br />
<br />
4. He is faithful! I love knowing that he only has eyes for me. He makes sure I know that I am the only one for him.<br />
<br />
5. He is oh-so-SEXY! Especially in his Bengals jersey and hat turned backwards... Hubba Hubba!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now I could go on and on but for times sake I would say that this is why I love my husband! Join me over at <a href="http://www.happywivesclub.com/" target="_blank">Happy Wives Club</a> and link up your post on why you love your husband. <img alt="Why I Love My Husband" src="http://www.happywivesclub.com/storage/WhyILoveMyHusbandII.jpg" /></div>

We had our Gender Reveal party today! We had so much fun with our family and close friends (and youth). We had a cake made for the big reveal... whats inside that cake will change our lives forever. I'll let the pictures tell the story...<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Are you Team Pink or Team Blue? Guests had to vote when they arrived. I included some Old Wives Tales for fun... according to them baby Wimbish is a girl? Let's see how true they are... We also had a little photo booth where guests could take a picture with our lips or a mustache. </div>

I don't think I realized how much I wanted a boy until I realized that's what we were having. I can't wait to read him stories, play with cars, clean those muddy clothes, make superhero capes, etc. I pretty much have his childhood planned out on my Little Man Pinterest board... go see for yourself: http://pinterest.com/mylifeashiswife/my-little-man/</div>

<a href="http://womenlivingwell.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/31-Day-Fall-Challenge-Making-Your-HOme-a-Haven-300x300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://womenlivingwell.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/31-Day-Fall-Challenge-Making-Your-HOme-a-Haven-300x300.jpg" width="200" /></a>I am very excited to start the 'Make Your Home A Haven' challenge. I have been getting so stressed with all the cleaning and organizing and cleaning again... Sometimes I feel like our house will never be our home as there is always something to do. Along with tackling a small area at a time I have joined this blog challenge hoping to set the homey tone in our house as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPBYkSY2AlMkm9d6nXtK5NDBcOOxi4oyrT2FDWKqX5rlp1evK4ij4d0J77Uz2uSmkTRYy15s_gWM7e3sg_StYv_ztOdUZCMKNaOqiixnIuOAIeCW0yWKnjzwALPVVwHlFNExJ7HV1Aijs/s1600/087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPBYkSY2AlMkm9d6nXtK5NDBcOOxi4oyrT2FDWKqX5rlp1evK4ij4d0J77Uz2uSmkTRYy15s_gWM7e3sg_StYv_ztOdUZCMKNaOqiixnIuOAIeCW0yWKnjzwALPVVwHlFNExJ7HV1Aijs/s200/087.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
Week 1: Lighting candles is nothing new in our house. In fact, if I don't have a candle lit Mark usually lights one. We have one special candle that we usually favor... On our honeymoon in Hocking Hills, Ohio we went into this little shop and they had lantern candle warmers. While it was more than we would usually pay we decided to splurge as it was our honeymoon. I am so thankful that we did because we use it constantly. And, two years later, we are still using the same Marshmallow candle that we bought that day as well. The living room seems to be the hub of our home so our lantern is placed in the corner right by the front door. It is my prayer when I see the candle glowing that our home is not just a home to us but to our baby that we are expecting in April. I pray that while we still have so much to do, finish the kitchen, finish the basement, and plan a nursery from start to finish, that we can do it together and with a joyful heart.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm 18 weeks today and so excited... I took my first 'preggy' pic because a few ladies at church told me I looked just adorable. I have to admit... I am liking all the maternity clothes my friends Sarah, Jessie, and Mari gave me. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>How far along?</b> 18 weeks... the time is really flying by because I have been so busy. I can't believe I am almost half way there!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Movement? </b>Well, I think... not really sure because I don't know what I'm looking for. I haven't felt a kick or a jab but it does feel like things, like my organs, are being bumped around. Really looking forward to that first kick though!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Maternity Clothes?</b> Like I said, I am really enjoying the new wardrobe I have from my friends. Its like going shopping in my closet every day. And my mom bought be some new jeans! Still loving my old sweats though... gotta be comfy!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Best Moment of the Week? </b>Last week I got to wear my cute mommy-baby skeleton shirt for Halloween... everyone loved it and it made me look forward to dressing the little one up next year.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<b>Worst Moment of the Week?</b> Still getting sick every now and then...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Sleep?</b> I'm definitely losing sleep... I have a hard time falling asleep then when I finally do it is usually time for a potty trip... ugh! Luckily I can still sneak in a nap midday!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Cravings?</b> Still craving fruit... apples and oranges</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Miss Anything?</b> Diet Coke. Diet Coke. Diet Coke. {One of the youth from our youth group promised me a case of Diet Coke after I have the baby... I. Cannot. Wait.}</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Looking Forward?</b> I have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming 2 weeks... This weekend Mark and I are going on a BABYmoon to Berlin, Ohio (Amish Country) and I am so excited. We are going to spend the weekend shopping and eating :) And next week is my doctor's appointment. I am so excited to see my baby again... its been 10 weeks since the last ultrasound. I am eager to see how big he or she has gotten. And, speaking of he or she... hopefully we can find out!<br />

Two children who otherwise would not receive anything for Christmas. Two children who don't get to make Christmas lists or circle the toys they want in the ads. Two children who are as grateful for the bar of soap and toothbrush I bought as they are for the toys I placed in their box as well. Mark couldn't shop with me so I got to buy for a little girl and little boy. I had so much fun picking the exact toys that I thought they would like. It is my prayer that through this gift they can come to know the gift of God... the true meaning of Christmas!<br />

The pin was titled "<a href="http://imom.com/mom-life/marriage-and-love/99-things-you-might-be-thankful-for-about-your-husband/" target="_blank">99 Things You Might be Thankful For About Your Husband</a>". The challenge was to tell you husband one reason why you are thankful for him each day of November. Now Mark is great at always telling me why he loves me, appreciates me, and things he likes about me. In fact, I would say he does it at least once a day if not more... he is always bringing a smile to my face. But this got me thinking that maybe I don't tell him how thankful I am enough. So... challenge accepted. Will you join me?<br />

For the season premier of Duck Dynasty, one of Mark's new favorite shows and the show if which we have a son he will be named after, I made Mark some camo cupcakes that I found on Pinterest. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFuilrYFujYkSUVxYAAVZj9S38UfC1fP0DYaoi-DHEy-Td48c4gMZepS4aq3ZqrU6bRxPkuefHiJBTxpigQDq9UhUYkkpaP8uvJPNAcXltNpYy2Wt0HA7uVK92YAkMM7xmVFfnC-kITHk/s1600/2012-10-10+02.50.56.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFuilrYFujYkSUVxYAAVZj9S38UfC1fP0DYaoi-DHEy-Td48c4gMZepS4aq3ZqrU6bRxPkuefHiJBTxpigQDq9UhUYkkpaP8uvJPNAcXltNpYy2Wt0HA7uVK92YAkMM7xmVFfnC-kITHk/s320/2012-10-10+02.50.56.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First I mixed a vanilla cake mix and a chocolate cake mix. Then I separated the mixes and added green food coloring to create the camo effect. For the lighter green I used the vanilla mix with 13 drops of food coloring. The nasty green was vanilla cake mix, some chocolate mix, and 10 drops of food coloring. The lighter brown was a combination of vanilla and chocolate mix. The darker was chocolate mix and some blue and green food coloring. </div>

We made back-to-school totes. Even those of us who aren't school aged had a blast. Many made the "no sew" ruffle tote (idea came from<a href="http://www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/2012/02/no-sew-ruffle-tote-with-tutorial-and_22.html" target="_blank"> here</a>) while some decided to use the doily and paint method (found <a href="http://www.realsimple.com/new-uses-for-old-things/paper-doily-tote-bag-art-00000000050928/index.html" target="_blank">here</a>). We also had some very cute Pinterest-inspired snacks thanks to Bev and Kay.<br />

One of us says "I love you" the other says "I love you more" and then the first person says "I love you more than your more". Now while you may be getting some crackers to go with that 'cheezeness' its what we do and a way to show each other how much we love the other. It originated when we saw it on a sign at a craft show and I have been kicking myself ever since for not getting it. I wanted to include the saying in our bedroom in some way but have too many frames so I busted out the Cricut and some vinyl and viola...<br />
