30 Days to Be Thankful

"What if tomorrow you wake up with only the things that you were thankful for today..."

I ran across this quote the other day and it has been in my mind ever since. It is so true that far too many times we simply forget to thank God for all that we have. We let a bad day overshadow all the good that was in it... simply waking up, having a house to wake up in, a meal to eat, a job to go to, a car to drive in, a husband/children to kiss goodnight... I was thinking about really celebrating all that I have to be thankful for and then I came across this Blog Party and knew instantly that I wanted to do it. I am joining the Thirty Days to be Thankful that Becoming a Strong Woman of God is hosting. Stop on over and link up if you would like to join me.

Day 1 {11/1/11}
I am so very thankful for my husband, Mark. I am so blessed to have a godly man to lead me and one day our family. I am thankful to have someone who makes me laugh and smile and feel like a princess. We have been married a year now and it has been a year full of so many blessings. (And may I add that he just brought me a Diet Coke... love!)

Day 2 {11/2/11}
I am so thankful that I have the love of God... I go through each day knowing that I am loved unconditionally. Though I may fail, and do fail, I have the forgiveness of my Savior to pick me up. I fully trust in the Lord and lean on Him daily.
Day 3 {11/3/11}
I am so THANKFUL for my dad. As many of you know, he is the kind of person that once you meet him your life will never be the same (good or bad :) I was so grateful to have my dad walk me down the asile a year ago (wet whillie or not...) and was so excited to dance our Father/Daughter dance (that we went and took lessons for). I love my dad so much. He has taught me plenty throughout my life. He has shown me what hard work is, what it means to make sacrifices for your family, love, how to build/fix things, and how to have a good time. Love you dad!
Day 4 {11/4/11}
I am so incredibally thankful for my mother. She is so very important to me. A few years ago we went from being mother/daughter rivals to best friends. I am so blessed to have a mother who cares for her children as much as she does. She loves her family very much and works so hard to provide for us. Over the years I have heard that "I am so much like my mother" many times and I take that as a compliment. I would love to become the wife, and eventually one day mother, that she has been. I lovve you so much mom.
Day 5 {11/5/11}
I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have Mike & Lorainne as my inlaws. They raised a great son and I am blessed that he is my husband. I love going to Columbus and spending time with them. The first time I met them, Lorainne and I had a three hour conversation before Mark even woke up. I realized then how much I loved their family

Day 6 {11/6/11}
I am not only thankful for my sister and brother but I do not know what I would do without them... I spent 10 years asking for a sibling and they were both worth the wait. We share so many memories together that there are too many to count... Sleepovers, coming across a deer in the Poland Woods, dropping Chinese food at the GAP, youth trips, first game nitght with Mark, watching movies, etc.

Day 7 {11/7/11}
Mark and I are so blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful youth group. They are so strong in their faith and are turning into a great group of young women and men. They are also so much fun to be around. We got to hang out with them this weekend at Kalahari and we had a blast. You guys rock!

Day 8 {11/8/11}
I am so very thankful for my grandparents and for all that they have done for me and for the great example of strength that they are. I was blessed to grow up with them as my 'neighbors' and remember many summers spending all night swinging on the front porch and going for midnight walks with my grandma. I remember spending the weekends of my childhood helping my grandpa run glass at his auctions and square dancing with my grandma and running the cash register at the conventions. I was even luckier to have the opportunity to move in with them for a few years. I especially loved it around the holidays when I was able to help my grandma cook and learn all her secrets. I look at them each day and think about how much of an example they are for all of us. They do not let anything stop them and fully rely on God each day. I love you grandma and grandpa.

Day 9 {11/9/11}
I am thankful that Rachel Woodburn is my friend. Not many people are lucky enough to have a friend to grow up with but Rachel and I have been friends since we were born. We met at church and have grown with the church over the years. We have been through good times and bad and I know that I can count on her for anything. Now Rachel has a daughter of her own and I am so happy to be a part of her life as well. I can't wait to watch Addison grow over the years...

Day 10 {11/10/11}
I thank God for my new job everyday! My life has changed tremendously since I have gotten this job. I love what I do. I get to teach ninth graders via the internet. It may not be a traditional 'brick and mortar' school but it is still full of so much life. I leave 'school' everyday with a smile on my face which is so much appreciated. ECOT is a great company to work for...

Day 11 {11/11/11}
I am thankful for my freedom and for those who fought for it and for those who are still fighting for it.

Day 12 {11/12/11}
I am thankful for today. I know that may sound strange but today was a really great day. This morning Mark held his first flag football tournament and had a really great turnout. I've heard that the boys had a great time. I went to a Thirty-One meeting and got the new lunch cinch tote which is super cute! Then this afternoon I was a part of the Ladies Holiday Bazaar at the church and it was a success. I am so thankful for those who support me in what I do. Now, Mark is downstairs playing Risk with the boys and I am in his comfy recliner, with his warm Bengals blanket watching the new Harrry Potter that he bought me last night... Such a good day!

Day 13 {11/13/11}
I am very thankful for Memorial Baptist Church and all who belong there. I have been attending this church since I was born and it is a very big part of my life. While the building itself may be just a ceiling and walls, it is those inside of it that I consider my family. We are a very close church and have the best of times.

Day 14 {11/14/11}
I am very thankful for my new friend Jessie Northern Ankrum! We have been friends for a year but it feels like a lifetime. I am so happy to have someone with the same interests and beliefs to talk to. I love hanging out with you girl! Now if you would just move here things would be alot easier... Ha Ha! (No really, that wasn't a joke... move! :)

Day 15 {11/15/11}
Who would have thought that I was a dog person? Not me, but I love her. I am very thankful for Ruby! She has brought life to our little house!

Day 16 {11/16/11}
I am so thankful that after all these years (its hard to admint how old we are getting...) I am still friends with the 'girls' from high school. It is exciting to see how life is treating us all... moving across the country, getting new 'real' jobs, getting engaged and getting married... I am very thankful for each and every one of you...

Day 17 {11/17/11}
I am so thankful that Mark and I had the opportunity to go to Hawaii this summer. It was an incredible trip. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. We got to enjoy the beach, the sunsets, snorkeling with sea turtles... So thankful for this trip.
