March Craft Night

With Easter just around the corner what better way to decorate than with some colorful string Easter eggs?
For our March Craft Night we followed Alissa's directions from Craft Endeavor to create our centerpieces. The directions were very easy to follow and the craft was a huge success. A bit messy... okay very messy, but the eggs turned out great!
Thank you to all the ladies who came out and a special thank you to those who provided the snacks, devotion, and door prize!

Now let's see how everyone's eggs turned out! Pictures please :)
Mari decided to hang hers as garland over the fireplace!
Trista has all her eggs in a basket :)

August Craft Night

Well, August came and went and I never posted pictures of our Craft Night so here they are... We made back-to-school totes. Even those of us who aren't school aged had a blast. Many made the "no sew" ruffle tote (idea came from here) while some decided to use the doily and paint method (found here). We also had some very cute Pinterest-inspired snacks thanks to Bev and Kay.

Thank you to all the ladies who came out and joined us! Especially our first-timers Lisa and Janice! I look forward to Craft Night each month and truly have a great time and good fellowship with all of you! Here comes October...

And More Vinyl

So as sappy as it may be, Mark and I have this little saying... One of us says "I love you" the other says "I love you more" and then the first person says "I love you more than your more". Now while you may be getting some crackers to go with that 'cheezeness' its what we do and a way to show each other how much we love the other. It originated when we saw it on a sign at a craft show and I have been kicking myself ever since for not getting it. I wanted to include the saying in our bedroom in some way but have too many frames so I busted out the Cricut and some vinyl and viola...

June Craft Night

We may have been small in numbers tonight but we had plenty of patriotic spirit with our Red, White, and Blue stackable boxes. We painted, modge-podged (because what's a Craft Night without Modge-Podge), hot-glue-gunned, and cricut-ed our way through the night. Here are a few pictures of some hardcore crafters and completed projects...

Thank you to Rachel and Cassie for the fruit and veggies, Pam for the devotional, and Tracy for the Door Prize. Again, I didn't seem to get a picture of all projects so I apologize.

Chalkboard Paint With a lil' bit of Vinyl

So I decided to take the left over paint and vinyl from last month's Craft Night and paint myself a nice new chalk board... in the bathroom! Come on ladies, who doesn't want a chalk board in the bathroom?
Mark had been wanting a place where we can post things that we are praying for and since he took to our dresser mirror in the bedroom with a dry erase marker I was eager to find him another spot. Being that this is a personal thing for us we didn't want it anywhere where everyone and their mother would see it when they stopped by so I figured the inside of our bathroom cabinet would be a great place. While it's not a place where guests usually go it is a spot that him and I see daily.

Well, what do you think? Leave me a comment!

P.S. Please ignore the fact that there is no light switch cover... We are yet to find one that fits... And to be honest with you I've grown used to it so I forgot about it until I saw the picture. Oops!

April & May Craft Night

My canvas hanging up in the hall
April Craft Night has come and gone and I completely forgot to post the pictures. April's craft was a huge success and everyone went home with some great artwork to display on their walls. It is such a blessing to see our numbers growing as well. For April's craft we raided our local hardware stores for paint swatches. I think Lydia took the prize for bring in around 200 swatches. We then created artwork out of the swatches and modge-podged them onto canvas. They all turned out great! Here are a few pictures...

May's Craft Night was another success! I think we all had a great time and it was so nice to see some new faces. For May's craft we made chalkboards out of picture frames. We then fancied them up by adding decorative vinyl pieces. It truly was a blast! I was having so much fun that I forgot to even make mine! Oops! I guess I will have to get busy... I was also so busy I didn't get too many pictures. If you made one please post your picture so we can all see it!

Pam had the patience to cut out and stick on 'As for me and my house we will serve the Lord'. It looked beautiful!

March Craft Night

We had yet another successful Craft Night... This month's craft was Flower Pots. We painted, decopauged, and embellished our way into Spring. Our monthly craft nights have become so much more to me than just making something. I look forward to hanging out with an awesome group of ladies/girls, great conversation, and laughing at our 'oops' moments. I love that a 30 minute craft can turn into a 3 hour craft with all the conversations going on. Take a look at some of our latest crafts...

February Craft Night

With all the 'spring-like' weather we've had I felt like some cute scarfs to accessorize some spring outfits were in need. All scarfs were made from old t-shirts. I found many cute tutorials by searching for 'T-Shirt Scarves' on google. Try it out...

Its never to early to start crafting...

Lydia stylin' in a cute braid, Katie fashionable in some loops, and Julie wrapped like a Diva.

Me, Marybeth, and Jessie
Some great friends who made the journey to come.
All in all it was another great Craft Night. Michele provided a great devotion on love (for St. Patrick's Day right? :) and Pam and Miss Mary brought some delicious snacks. I can't wait for next month... Did someone say Easter decor? I think so...

A Hand-Made Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day... Mark and I decided that to make Valentine's Day more meaningful we would make each other our presents. After searching for hours for an idea on Pinterest (as if I needed and excuse) I decided to make a Map Frame with all the places special to Mark. Check out how it turned out:

The map includes:
West Virginia: Mark has a lot of close family in West Virginia and spent many summers of his childhood hanging out there. We were also engaged while Four Wheeling in West Virginia.

Columbus: Mark was born in and lived in Columbus up until moving to Kentucky. His parents still live in Columbus and we visit as often as we can.

Seneca Lake: Seneca Lake is a place special to both Mark and myself. It is both where we met and where we were married. To read more about Seneca Lake click here.

Louisville, Kentucky: Mark was living in Louisville when we first started dating. He was going to Boyce College at the time. I went and visited over Valentine's Day weekend two years ago and it was probably the most memorable weekend we've had.

Mark did a great job picking out my gift. He got me a letter box to go on my nightstand. He added his 'hand-made' touch by imprinting 'Sug' on the front of it. He also wrote me a letter to be the first of many to go inside.

While our Valentine's Day may not have been ideal, spending two hours standing on the side of the road waiting for AAA, it was perfect. After we finally made it home from Applebee's we exchanged gifts and watched Breaking Dawn =D
