Sunshine Award

I'd like to thank Sarah from Mrs. T's for awarding me with the Sunshine Award. Sarah has been a friend of mine since birth. We have shared many great times together; Doogie Houser, Emenies, dance parties, etc. But my favorite memory with Sarah would have to be a particular voicemail she left me the day she got my card asking her to be a bridesmaid. I was still at school when she called and I got a voicemail of her yelling, crying, screaming, Hannah (her daughter) crying because Sarah's screaming woke her up, and letting me know that she just got out of her car and jumped up and down. Every girl should be lucky enough to have a 'Sarah' in their lives.

The rules are to thank the person who awarded you, blog about it, answer the questions, and then pass the award on to bloggers, letting them know you awarded them the Sunshine Award.

Decking the halls...

We've been so busy this Christmas season that I am just now getting around to wishing you all a Merry Christmas! I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas with those you love!

Our Christmas was very nice but way to busy. Christmas Eve started once again with breakfast in bed made by my oh-so-loving husband. Only this year, I was woken up by my Ruby-girl. We went to our Christmas Eve service then to my parents house to start the festivities. I do have to say that one of the highlights of our Christmas has become my dad's gag gifts... and this year was not a let down. My gift was my old hamster wheel... what makes it even better though is I didn't like hated my hamster and there was even some hair in it... Mark's gift was a Pot and Putt bathroom golf set. I'm ashamed to admit that he looked a bit excited. Christy once again got camo (because it never gets old) and JD got a first aid kit along with a needle and thread because he happened to go through his friends windshield a few months ago. Mark and I got a little creative this year though, and decided that my dad should not be the only one to have some fun so we made a little gift of our own.(Mark did the wrapping) Roger's is a local flee market we have so we got him a Roger's Gift Card. We duct taped 19 cents in the shape of a gift card. He loved it!

Christmas day began with Mark and I opening our presents (lots of goodies) then going to church. Our service was a collection of testimonies about the Christmas season. It was so nice to share these experiences, funny and serious, with each other. After church we headed to Columbus to begin the Wimbish festivities.

We had a great weekend but I am so glad to be home and able to relax now... Wish me luck as I start to plan my New Year Cleaning/Organization schedule! (Is it sad that this makes me excited???)

November & December Craft Nights

Craft Nights at the church have become a huge success. I am so happy to have a night when we can all come together and show off our talents. November's Craft Night was to make Thanksgiving Turkeys. We then used the turkeys as the centerpieces for the church dinner the following Sunday. It was nice to see everyone admiring what we made.

For December's Craft Night we made Christmas Trees out of styrofoam cones and ribbon. This was our best Craft Night yet... We had so many people we even ran out of supplies... Oops! The Christmas trees varied from a traditional red/green/gold to blue/pink/purple/silver trees. It was so fun to see everyone's personality come out in their trees... Here are a few that I was able to get:
Everyone hard at work to make the perfect Christmas Tree...
